Why do I need to send out cards? I mean birthday cards?

Well, it is that time again. Another one of my friends is having a birthday. Seems like we just had a birthday party yesterday for one friend and now here is another one. You know sometimes I wish birthdays were like Christmas where every one had it on the same day. Just once a year. For example January 16th, which just happens to be my birthday, would be a good day. Every year on January 16th is everybody birthday. That way I can plan to send out cards and gifts or even have a big party at my expense for all the happy people celebrating their birthday with me. This would be easy. It may be a little costly but easy. Just one big day and then it is all over until next year.

Unfortunately that is not the case. Not for me and certainly not for you. Everybody that you know has his or her birthday on a different day. Some are months apart and some are just days or a day in one of my cases. This means you have to remember everyone’s birthday for the day that it comes. Oh and please do not forget because they won’t let you forget that you forget their birthday. I guess you can not win.

Now here is my question. Don’t you wish you had a way to remember birthdays when they come and be able to send out cards automatically to that birthday person? When I say cards I mean printed birthday cards. No not just an eCards from Blue Mountain. These cards I notice has no meaning. Why? Because when I receive them they do not feel personal. And when I sent them to my birthday people they still wait for me to write one and put it in the mail.

Maybe it is the putting it in the envelope and mail it part that adds the meaning to printed birthday cards. People want to know that you labor in some way to get them that birthday card or any greeting cards for that matter. Don’t send me any eCard that you just click from the Internet. Send me a card that you had to pick out from a long pile in the card store. Go home and write me something nice. Then go in line in the post office and pay $.42 or whatever the postage is and send me that card. Oh don’t forget to lick that stamp to. This will definitely add your personal touch to my printed birthday cards.

I don’t know about you but I like option number 3 the best. If I am the recipient I will feel that you actually care and remember about me while you are on your vacation enjoying yourself. This says a lot about the sender.
