Network Marketing Facts or Fiction

Many of these stories are true and many are made up. However their basis is sadly true. There are people who got burnt by the business. Not that it does not happen in almost every other business and even in regular jobs but it happens a lot more in network marketing. That is one of the sad facts that network marketers have to deal with on a daily basis. We have to be extra careful when presenting our business to individuals. One mistake and we can be branded as a fraud. I have heard of people losing their family because the other members looked at them as crooks

I know of one person that lost his job because he mentioned his business idea to a co-worker. The co-worker reported him and accused him of trying to swindle her. Unfortunately for him swindlers are not welcome at the BANK where he worked whether real or just suspects. He was fired immediately. That's a true story.

The unfortunate network marketing facts that I see unfolding now has taken a different turn but with the same damaging results to the business as the three foot rule and other network marketing myths. The problem comes at the advertising level. The lines for example you could make $30000.00 in a week at home on your computer, no selling no cold calling, no advertising. This is very misleading. It seems like someone is going to give you $30000.00 and you just sit and watch the computer screen. Needless to say that is fiction and definitely not network marketing.

Another thorn in my side is that line, "we will put you at the top of a downline." This means that the other people who joined before you and who were also placed at the top, now have to move over so that you can now sit on that throne. Definitely another fiction story.

What really got me pissed off and almost turned me into a frustrated network marketer again. What made me start writing this page to point out these stories is a website that stated this as a network marketing facts in bullet style writing.

It went like this:

Facts

• We will make sure you succeed by placing you at the top of the downline.
• We will guarantee that you will make a six figure income in less than 30 days.
• You will fire your boss in 30 days and live your dreams.
• No calling leads, no selling, all you need is a computer.
