First Advice About Network Marketing Learn How To Sell Yourself.

advice about network marketing

Another advice about network marketing and one you should never forget. Learn how to sell your business honestly, do not practice "Fake it till you make it"

As a newbie in network marketing I wanted to learn how to sell quickly and effectively. I had my eye set on becoming a member of the “presidents club” in the company that I was working with. It was such a glorious position that I would settle for nothing less. I knew that to achieve that I needed advice about network marketing and to learn how to sell the business. I went to my upline, (mentor, coach) for help.

That was the first time I heard the phrase, "fake it 'till you make it". I thought I was dreaming when he said it. Actually I was sleeping, well not exactly sleeping but just dosing off when he said that. Don't laugh but I was on a phone call with my upline when he said it me. A training phone call he called it. He was trying to encourage me to continue with my quest to be in the “presidents club” with the health and nutrition network marketing company that we were involved with. He was instructing me on how to sell the weight loss portion of the package for my business. In other words he was coaching me on advice about network marketing.

In all fairness to him he told me to set aside a couple hours for him to go over the selling strategies with me. Reality, he needed a few days. He approached me from all different angles all with the same goal. He wanted me to sign up and buy some more of his products. This guy went on and on about how I needed to try out the products. He said I should try them until I get a good result. That way I can have a success story to tell. “That will help you to convince other people to try it,” he said. It made sense at first but then my little argumentative brain asked me ‘are you a guinea pig’? And I answered myself, NO, I am not.

I started to break down his tactics and quickly realize that all he wanted was to sell me some of his products. He was not for one bit interested in whether or not I was ever going to be successful in the business. He did not care for one minute if I had money to buy the products at that time. In fact he told me just put it on my credit card. He did not even bother to find out if I was comfortable with my self (my weight). He was simply trying to sell his products. He was not teaching me how to sell as he had promised. He was not giving me good advice about network marketing. I sure hope not!! It seemed like he was on a sales call.

Why was I sleeping?

I had just came from a long day at work so as soon as he started becoming uninterested, I began getting sleepy. So there is the first reason why I was dosing off on the phone call. Another reason for me falling asleep is because he never shut up. He never let me participate in the conversation. I could put the phone down and go to the grocery store and he would still be there talking when I got back without knowing that I was absent. That method of selling will chase away all your prospects. You sell better by asking questions listening to your prospects and giving them options to make their choices from. That is how to sell effectively not by lecturing. I did not need anyone to give me advice about network marketing to know that.

At some point in the conversation he wanted me to upgrade my history in network marketing. You see this was my first attempt at network marketing I had no track record. I had never learn how to sell before. He said that was no problem. He then explained that people will buy from me if I showed them that I had more experience in the business. You have to walk the walk, talk the talk and look the look to build people confidence in you. Then it came out from nowhere, you must "fake it 'till you make it". Yes that was the first time I heard that phrase. Never expected that from a how to sell training call, or furthermore as advice about network marketing.

When he realized that the conversation was going nowhere he had no choice. He went deep into his bag of tricks and came up with "fake it 'till you make it". I thought it was original when he said it, it really sounded authentic and very creative.

It rang in my ears like a school bell when you are late for class. Right away I questioned him about it.

What exactly do you mean by "fake it 'till you make it".?

How can I trust you if you want me to fake it?

frustrated network marketer Or worse, will I ever even make it with your business plan?

What exactly am I learning from you?

Am I supposed to go out and tell prospect the same things that you are telling me now?

Are you still teaching me how to sell?

What’s going to happen when somebody joins up with me and realize that I am a fraud?

Is this your advice about network marketing?

Are you just kidding me, is this a test?

He boldly answered NO to my last question. Not a test, I am very serious he said. You need to buy some of these products and try it. I can hook you up with some of my other prospects and you can split the cost for the full package and just share it among yourselves. If you don’t have all the money it’s ok whatever you have we will make it work. I have a few other prospects with the same situation so you guys can all join up.

That may have been a good idea in theory but the worst part is that the business package he was trying to sell us is set up for one prospect. It contains samples and some product for sale to other new prospect to start your business. That’s what he wanted me to split up with two or three more people. This means that I would definitely not have enough products to sell to new prospects to make a profit. So before I even started I was already in the hole. No way this could be his advice about network marketing. I could not believe it.

At that point I realize that he was desperate. That conversation to him was a routine sales call and he needed to make that sale. He was now pulling straws to see which idea worked. This was the techniques he was going to be teaching me. That made me asked a lot more questions. Now he was scaring me.

Now don’t get me wrong. I was ready for the business. That was the reason I wanted the advice about network marketing. That was the reason I wanted to learn how to sell in network marketing. However I was not ready to be a con artist. No way. I reversed all transaction we had and stopped doing business with him immediately.

What happened to honesty?

What happened to business ethics?

Where did the network marketing business take that left turn that has people thinking that in order to succeed they must swindle?

I almost gave up on the network marketing business. I did not know much about the business yet but I knew that this was not how to sell to or encourage anybody you wanted to join your business. This was not the advice about network marketing that I was looking for. The anticipation of making money, makes people desperate. The fact that network marketing promises so much makes people eager enough to resort to fraud. They cannot wait for the process to complete. Making shortcuts is impossible to resist. When the shortcuts lead to nowhere they become desperate. Then it is ‘any port for a storm.’ However, whenever, wherever and by any means necessary they have to make that money.

frustrated network marketers Prospect has no more personal value to them. They become just another victim. They are no longer interested in turning prospect into customers or business partners. That is the advice about network marketing that is being handed down by some uplines. They become frustrated in the business and then pass the frustration onto the new prospects who continues the trend. this is the reason for all the negativity in network marketing

Whenever a conversation to make a sale becomes a begging battle, you should have stopped a long time a go. It should never happen where you are begging a prospect to make a sale. Remember a prospect learns how to sell by the way you sell to them. An advice about network marketing to remember is that, you see you supposed to introduce the business in such a way that

network marketing success they are not going to have too many questions. There should never be loose ends to your proposal. If you are not sure get help. Do not be ashamed to ask for advice about network marketing. Do some more research on your own. Make sure that what you say is truthful and honest. That system always wins.

If prospect has questions answer them. If you can’t then get help or refer them to someone that can. Learn how to sell honestly, never lie . The truth has a way of showing itself through a lie. You better believe it, people can see right through lies. They may miss it initially but they will soon catch up. Every lie has an end. They may start up again right into a new lie but eventually the lies ran out. Then you have people upset and angry. Then there is no limit as to what can happen after that situation. You could put yourself into more expense than you can afford.
